Subaru Share the Love Event:
The Subaru Share the Love event is an annual program ran by Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers all over the country. Each year, Subaru dealers aim to raise as much as they can for four major charities around the United States, and for their local charity if they've partnered with one.

We are partnering with the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf for the fifth year in a row, and we couldn't be more excited. Every year, CEFS serves thousands of Vermonters in need; providing food, experience, knowledge and so much more. We are honored to be able to work with such an amazing organization for yet another year.

Here's how it works:
For every new Subaru sold during the Share the Love event period, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer's choice of five charities; the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf (our local charity), ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals on Wheels Association of America® or The National Parks Foundation®. Customers may also choose more than one charity if they wish to do so.

Check out more details on all of the organizations below, and help us Share the Love again this year!

Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf
Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf
The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf works to alleviate hunger by feeding people and cultivating opportunities. As the largest direct service emergency food provider in Vermont, CEFS serves over 12,000 people each year.

We've partnered with CEFS for the last six years, raising over $230,000 in donations since the 2013-14 event! Check out their website here.
Other Charity Options:
ASPCA
ASPCA®
A leading voice for animals for over 150 years, the ASPCA® provides life-saving protection and care to animals in need. Whether it's rescuing animals from abuse and neglect, introducing and enforcing more humane legislation, or supporting animal shelters across the country, the ASPCA helps animals live better lives. Through the ASPCA, Share the Love has had a significant impact on the rescue, transport, and adoption of nearly 40,000 animals across the country.
Make-A-Wish Foundation
Make-A-Wish®
Research shows when children diagnosed with a critical illness are granted their one true wish, it gives them renewed strength and energy to keep fighting. Their families and entire communities come together. The impact from just one wish, has the power to transform the lives of everyone involved. Through Make-A-Wish, Share the Love has granted the wishes of more than 1,500 kids with life-threatening medical conditions.
Meals on Wheels Association of America
Meals on Wheels America®
Meals on Wheels America provides leadership to local, community-based programs dedicated to fighting hunger and isolation among our nation's homebound seniors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I select the charity or charities I want to receive the donation?

A: At time of delivery you will be asked to provide your name, contact information, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and charity selection. Burlington Subaru will send in your selection and Subaru will then make the donation on your behalf.
Q: What if I want to split the donation (i.e. select more than one charity) or vote more than once?

A: Each customer who has purchased or leased a new Subaru (2017 or 2018) can either allocate the $250 donation to one charity, or split it amongst any number of participating charities. Only one donation (of $250) is made per vehicle sale or lease.
Q: I bought a car, but forgot to submit my charity selection. Where does the money go?

A: For those who do not make their charity selection by January 31, 2018, Subaru will distribute the donation evenly among the five national charities.
Q: How will I know that the donation was made?

A: You will receive a thank-you letter from Subaru and the charities that received your donation once all of the submissions have been processed.
Q: By which date will Subaru make the donations to each charity? How much money is expected to be donated?

A: Subaru will make the donation to each charity by March 2018. By the end of this year's event, Subaru aims to have donated over $115 million to charities.
Q: Do I get a tax credit for this donation?

A: Because the donation is being made by Subaru to each of the participating charities, donations are not tax-deductible to purchasers.
Q: Why do some retailers have four charity options and others have five charity options?

A: Subaru of America offers dealerships the option to select a fifth charity within their community to join the other four national charities. While some retailers are participating in this option, others chose to participate solely with the four national charities. There are currently over 660 hometown charities being supported by various Subaru dealerships across the United States.
